Miss you much kor kor

哥哥,you will be missed!

signing off from starbucks

Most of you didn't know that I worked as a part time Barista in Starbucks not long ago. Submitted my application form with my friend but he end up PPK me. Fine! I went through the interview and was hired. Started my first impression training on October and I just signing off few days ago.

Beginning stage is always the hardest. Don ever think that working in Starbucks is glamour. Bear in mind, you are in F&B line. Meaning to say that, not only making coffee, you have to clean the table, serve the customer, wash the dishes, preparing ingredient, mop the floor and throw rubbish. I am quite okay with these actually, not a big issue. However, some newcomers can't stand it, they quit on the next day. lol.

Another joyful working experience in my life. I am glad that I get to know coffee better and also my lovely partners (colleagues are called as partners in Starbucks). Everything is so systematic, the flow is smooth and One thing I find it interesting is that you can tell customer how you feel about the particular drinks or food, good or bad. Unlike in Switch, everything is so dead - facts.

Me in red apron and xmas hat =)

I can feel that Starbucks is really concern about their employees. I get to drink free coffee during work, entitle for staff discount for all merchandise, night shift allowances, triple pay on public holiday and so on. Relationship between partners is good (they will wave their hand and say hi to me whenever I step in the store). This can be hardly seen in Switch, not even a 'good morning' when you come to work.

Starbucks is good. I am leaving because of scheduling issues in my store. Somehow I don like the way my manager force me to work during my exam period. I don think it is an major issue in other store, they have flexible working hours :)

Lovely partners. Too bad that I cant take photo with all of you. =(

Sand castle

What is in your mind when you heard of sand castle?
sand? kids? pails? what esle?

This?

This?

 or this?

Well, I had a sandcastle building program yesterday with a brunch of coursemate. Building sand castle is not an easy job even though sir has mentioned that there are only 3 main factors - Pressure (force), amount of water, and quality of the sand.

Ready????

1 hour for this thingy =.= so called foundation aka base. A strong foundation can hold a person weight, so that the sand tower will not collapse.

Ai Juan and I were trying to get a mini castle. the yellow thingy on my hand.
Too much pressure, sand cannot come out; too less pressure, no castle shape.

The boys

Tada :) Our CASTLE

with team members

our neighbour's castle. Very nice

This photo was taken few years ago when I first joined Inti.

The sand castle building program was actually quite fun. Never imagine that I am able to build a sand castle before. And of course, the program teaches us some valuable lesson and that will not be found in  textbooks.

Taipei - July 2012

I know right, it was long time ago but it is up now :)

Our hostel of the trip. Highly recommended. 台北猪窝 is located somewhere around Taipei Main Station (台北车站), a very convenient place where you can take MRT easily, and also bus to Tao Yuan Airport. After we settled everything, it was already 7pm. So we decided to go Shilin night market to have some TAIWAN FOOD.

I don't know why, Shilin falls below my expectation. I only managed to get a pair of flat and an elmo pluggy. Food was so so only.

DAY 2

Just a random stall nearby our hostel.

Then we off to 西门町. Must try 阿宗面线, very famous mee suah in Xi Men Ding. There is no table in the shop. Again, we can't get any nice clothes there, double disappointed! But Xi Men Ding is really huge, give yourself roughly 3 hours to shop. We planned to go Mr J's Kitchen (Jay Chou's Restaurant), and we were having hard time to search for that as everyone we asked have no idea where is it. We end up went to Shi Da night market

I personally think that it has wider range of stuffs.

Not to forget top up your 优游卡. A touch&go-like card that allows you to purchase stuffs in 7-11 and get 20% discount for MRT ticket.

DAY 3

We get it from the MRT station, just a 5 minutes walking distance from our hostel. It is a very common breakfast for Taiwanese as they can have breakfast before go to work/school.

Erm, we decided to go there because our itinerary is full of shopping places. We feel that we should have visit some historical places.

Off to 五分埔商圈. FYI, Wu Fen Pu is closed on Monday for wholesale purchases. So you know when should you go.

We took MRT to Taipei 101 station and store our stuffs in the computerize locker.

We had our dinner at 台北101 and enjoyed the night view of Taipei 101.

DAY 4:

We rented 2 cars to go to 野柳, 九份, 十分, and 基隆 as it is quite hard to reach there by public transport. The driver is very nice. If you are interested in these places, you can call
Mr. Yang 0932-358-228 / +886932358228

九份 must eat: 螺

Each colour represents different aspects

Complimentary gift from the driver. FIREWORKS! my first time putting fireworks

We get most of our sport shoes from Kee Long night market
And these are our 战利品. 6 of us! 50% of these come from Kee Long night market.

DAY 5:
Free activity: We were back to Xi Men Ding again. Everyone are given second chance to grab their regret-din-buy stuff. hahaha!

Dinner at 争鲜- Sushi bar. NTW30 for all plates!
Went to 公馆 to try out the famous 青蛙撞奶, pearls are really sweet.

DAY 6:

淡水老街: tried 阿给 and bought some 铁蛋.
Some may prefer 阿婆铁蛋 but I prefer others. 阿婆铁蛋 is too hard for me.

Dinner at Dazzling Cafe. I feel it is overrated and not worth for money. Everyone MUST order a drinks and their drinks is not cheap at all. Environment ok, but I dont think their food and staffs are nice.

Famous honey toast. I cant recall the name of this toast.

DAY 7:

Hello Kitty check in counter. We were not taking this flight :(

Bye

Must Buy Tips : My Beauty Diary Mask (我的美丽日记), Sport Shoe (Nike, adidas...), Birken Stock (cheaper compared to M'sia), 铁蛋, Pineapple tart (recommend 佳德/ChiaTe)
